Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend is not only a time to reflect on the social and economic achievements of the hard working Americans of the past and present, but also to take a break and relax. So use this weekend to get some great quality time in with your family and friends.

Portland, Oregon has plenty of places for holiday weekend activities if you’re wanting to break away from the city life and breathe in some fresh air. Head out to Tryon Creek State Natural Area! There’s hiking trails, bike paths, equestrian paths, and you’ll even get some wildlife sightings if you’re watchful. On Labor Day itself, head out to Skidmore Bluffs, where you can get one of the best seats around to watch the beautiful sunset. It’s also well known for the beautiful views of the river and greenery surrounding it.

From all of us here at Linc 301, have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!

Weekend Destinations

Weekend Destinations are always a super fun and quick thing to do when you’re pressed for time! Portland, OR has plenty of places to choose from when you’re needing something fun and different to do.

Who doesn’t love farmer’s markets? There are a lot of them in Portland, like the King Neighborhood Market! This one would be a good Sunday midday stop for some fresh local produce and other goodies. After the farmer’s market you can head over to Forest Park. There’s plenty of walking, hiking, and biking trails that weave through the park and connect along the Columbia River. Very scenic! If you’re not wanting to do nature or be outdoors even, head into the city and check out Powell’s City of Books, the largest independent bookstore in the world. Even if you’re not an avid reader, it’s definitely worth it to check it out!

All in all, Portland, OR has you covered when it comes to planning a weekend destination. We’re already halfway through the week, so start planning!
