Make Your New Year’s Resolutions Last All Year Long

resolutions

If you’re like most of us, you probably have a few New Year’s resolutions that you want to make for 2018. After all, a new year means a new you, right? Whether you’re trying to make healthier choices or spend more time trying new things, resolutions are great for making important lifestyle changes. On the other hand, they can also be hard to keep. We want to help you achieve your goals, which is why we’re sharing three tips to help you make your goals last all year long.

Tip #1: Pen and Paper

Write your goals down! Make a list! Do whatever you can to actively write your resolutions. The simple act of making a list can be a great motivation factor. You can even consider keeping a “Resolution Journal,” in which you track your daily progress.

Tip #2: Tell Your Friends

Go public with your resolutions. You don’t have to announce it to everyone you meet, but making your resolutions known to the closest people in your life can help with accountability.

Tip #3: Expect Mistakes

This one’s a big one. You’re not going to be perfect every time, so once you accept that fact, you’ll be a lot less hard on yourself when you fall back. Chalk it up and try again tomorrow!

The Oregon Ballet Theatre features some top-notch dancers and unforgettable experiences. Throughout the month of December, you can catch the classic ballet The Nutcracker at the stunning Keller Auditorium. With live musical accompaniment, it really doesn’t get much more magical than this, folks. Find a date and grab your tickets here.

A cruise may not be the first thing that comes to mind during Christmas but here in Portland, it’s a local tradition. The Cinnamon Bear Cruise is a great time for the little ones in your life. This two-hour cruise features storytime, performances, photo ops, and a whole lot more. Don’t miss out on this family-friendly excursion taking place on select dates throughout December. Prepare to be dazzled at The Grotto’s Festival of Lights. It’s a spectacular display of color and a wide assortment of beautiful lighting. It’ll be open until December 30, so there’s still time to make your way to this Portland holiday hotspot. Be sure to check the choir schedule for a performance to remember!

It will never be New Year’s Eve 2018 again! Celebrate it fantastically!

There are some things that you can only do once… like celebrating a New Year. Think about it, you will never have a chance to welcome 2018 ever again, so make sure you do it right! If you haven’t yet found the perfect party, let us suggest one that is happening at the Hilton Portland Downtown and that for sure will be one of the biggest ones in town.

The Portland’s Champagne Ball is not about to disappoint you. With three dance floors, 18 bars, multiple DJs (including Hit Machine, DJ OSO Fresh, DJ Paradox, and DJ RPM), you will get the last and the first workouts of 2017/2018. But don’t faint, there will be an appetizer buffet as well, and late-night pizza. Party favors are included in the ticket, which you can purchase here. If you like celebrating the New Year in unforgettable fashion, this one is for you.

But whatever you do, we hope that you enjoy yourself to the full. And we’ll “see you” again in 2018!

Need more pumpkins? Find them at Fazio Farms

Maybe you can’t invest the hour it’d take to drive to the Bella Organic Pumpkin Patch (which we told you about last month), so we found you a pumpkin patch that is much closer, just 20-minutes away from home: Fazio Farms.

This is a family-run business located at 9028 NE 13th Avenue in Portland 97211. They’re open from 4 pm to 8 pm during the week, and 9 am to 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. At this patch, you’ll find pumpkins of all sizes and colors, plus other fresh produce like cucumbers, squash, and dill weed that you may want for your pantry. Find details about Fazio Farms here.

There are only two more weeks of pumpkin patch fun, and we hope you get all the fruit you need to deck out your home for the season, to bake delicious pies, and to carve some Jack-o-Lanterns for Halloween.

And here’s hoping that you have an (only mildly) scary, yet safe, Halloween!
